Backpack Drive - Until July 14th!

Our annual backpack drive has always benefitted children in low-income families, but the details have changed over the years. This summer, we’ll be supporting the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, where 500 backpacks are needed for disadvantaged kids and teens living in Pacheco, Bay Point and Clayton. Your donation of money or of a new empty backpack is needed, as is your help in filling them with school supplies which are the generous gift of a parish donor. Here’s what we need, by Sunday, July 14th.

MAKE A DONATION by check or online through St Stephen’s, noting Backpack Project, or

DONATE NEW, EMPTY BACKPACKS: Bring to church on or before July 14th:

  • Kids’ style bags, especially colorful patterns.

  • Teens’ bags: sturdy, full sized backpacks.

HELP TO FILL THOSE BACKPACKS: On July 14th after church, we will fill them up and load them up for delivery to Mt Diablo Unified School District.

We’re headed to our Summer Era!

We might be headed for warmer weather, but St. Stephen’s isn’t slowing down! We have a great calendar of summer events, and we hope to see you at as many as possible!
