Abundance
“Stewardship is everything we do after we say, ‘I believe.’”
The Christian life calls us to a life of stewardship, that is, care for all that God has entrusted to us. This includes our planet, its environment and its inhabitants. Stewardship includes our care for one another and our care for our resources, physical and financial. Simply put, it takes money to keep a church operating. Staff must be paid, buildings maintained, ministries take place, programs for children, youth, adults – all this takes money. At St. Stephen’s we refer to the “stewardship of abundance.” We ask each of our members to consider prayerfully how much to return to the work of God through the church of the financial resources God has entrusted to them. Each year during the annual Abundance campaign in the season of Advent, we are asked to fill out a pledge card with our financial commitment to the work of the church for the coming year. This allows our vestry and finance committee to effectively plan for the year ahead. In all things, we trust that through the generosity of our members, God will provide all that we need to do the work God intends for us to do.
You can make your pledge online or to get a pledge card, contact the church office 254-3770 or email the Church Office.
